Quote from ssm :Oh no, not this again. Look, you are just saying this because of jealousy.

You read it all wrong. Usually by first car its understood that its the very first car and a driver has no experience, thus thinking that 320hp is too much for a newbie

uhm...There is only one working Race track in UA as far as I know, and that one is about 600km away from me

Quote from obsolum :I haven't had the chance to try the handicapped FXO. How much was the ballast anyway?

It's just that in the thread about TBO balancing in the CTRA subforum, it was stated that a mere 2% air intake restriction should be enough to balance the class. 3% was said to be already too much of a handicap, and there wasn't even any mention of added ballast. And now I read here that a 3% restriction plus ballast made for good racing

I think you misread what was posted there, Becky stated that during patch X (when global balancing was used) with 3% FXO was the slowest car, although no one mentioned that with 3% restrictions FXO also had 70kg of ballast back then, thus saying that 3 % were a lot, but only saying - no one did any tests...

Quote from zeugnimod :It was not close at all. At least not when of two similarly skilled drivers, one drove a FXO and the other one a RB4/XRT. Did you watch the results after every race? If Pallu wasn't on the server, 7 or 8 cars of the top 10 were almost always FXOs.

Agree, FXO was way more dominant, not to mention that almoust all the pack was contained of them, thus making racing "close", mainly because it was one car races...

Quote from obsolum :To be honest, I found the racing was already pretty damn close in the FXO without the restrictions. But maybe that's just because I suck Which means I'll suck even more now

You don't suck at all IMO, quite a fast driver, and I was finding it hard to fight with you in even in FXOs, with XRT which I mostly use, its almoust impossible, and I do know how to drive it

Quote from Bean0 :Whinging FXO drivers.

I don't think it will make mush of a diffirence anyway, as those who whine, just can't accept that they just can't drive, and those who really can drive FXO are still more than competeve.
Allthough I agree that ballast should be in, after all FXO is the easiest to drive, it SHOULD be handicapped.

Personally for me cocpit view is faster, because I can feel the cars position and balance a lot better than with chase view.

Quote from lovretta :Really? I've driven several cars with no abs, few times had hard braking, few years ago from almost 140kph (~85 MPH) and tires locked all the way to zero kmh. Car in this case is Renault Clio 1.5dci (65HP) ~1000kg
Also recently, I braked from little over 100km/h (60mph) and wheels locked totally - tires on the car were around two weeks old. This here is Renault 19 1.4 (72HP), 930kg...

So i think your statement isnt quite right.

Like it was explained in above posts, it may vary, it may depend on such factors as width of your tyres, weight of rims etc

Quote from ssm :Why would you do that? Do you want to be standing on your brakes every time you try to stop? It's better to have vacucme assist.

He doesn't want to remove pressure booster, he wants to lower the brake pressure a bit, sounds sensible for a track car, because you never want the brakes to lock from a slightest touch

Yeah it was a mistake, problem was solved quite quickly
I actually deleted that message but it was renewed somehow I guess?

EDIT: Regarding handicaps, I think it works pretty good. Not only it made a line up filled with cars like RB4/XRT, but it also keeps FXO at the level with others. Even on such a tight track as AS1R FXO wasn't pulling out of corners like mad. They did go out of corners a bit faster, but they hardly can use that advantage, as the advantage in speed is minimal and is canceled by not being able to pass the "slower" car. Just great!

I think I was just banned from the server. Could anyone exlpain why the hell that happend? I was rear ended at T1 by someone not taking care about that the pack is moving slowly through T1 and when I was driving at the very back I was kicked from the server? Is it a mistake or what?

Quote from Mackie The Staggie : Putin when he was the President (main guy) he was starting to change Russia, and sielntly invested more and more in the milatery. Now as I understand all/most of the main power in Russian politics is held by the president, and they can only hold office for 4/6 years....I can't remember, but there hapens to be a lower postion than president, which can hold great political power.

So as Putins regin came to an end,

Oh, no it don't. Nothing changed tbh, Medvedev is just a doll

Quote from Klutch :To fix the delay, when you approach the shift point, the animation can move down to the gear shift, and once you shift, the game registers, shifts, and puts has hand back onto the wheel until the next shift point arrives.

However, if you hit it to redline and dont shift, he'll have his hand on the gear until YOU shift it.

...Not sure if people get what i mean or not.

...and what if you are short-shifting? Animation on upshifts is only the top of the iceberg, how will you make the animation work on Downshifts? TBH, I don't care about driver animations at all, because I use neither wheel or driver options, but for those who use them, constant useless movements of hands will only distract and annoy IMO

IMO Contant should be avoided at any cause in LFS, regardless if it is allowed in RL or not, and the obvious reason for this is LAG. Even a very slight contact combined with lag might upset the car badly resulted in a spin. No contact, period

I was thinking the same, but to solve the problem of the shifter a bit, I've had an idea:

Scrap the hand movement to the shifter, because, as Lateralus expalined, it will be delayed, but why not make just the shifter move by itself, it will be mostly for replays, still a step forward IMO

I storngly suggest you not to buy used G25's at all. The price is too big to take a risk for such hardware. Its known that their shifters aren't made for long time punisments, so you'de better save up for a new one, or buy a cheaper but new wheel like DF GT/DFP

Quote from Kancel :the fact is, FXO is still fast like cheating

the car is so light weight that it is fast in the corners, and it is the fastest on the straight too

with a carefull throttle control, the tyre temp is even more controllable than a XRT or a RB4

FXO is just too competetive

You missed my point, yes I agree that FXO is faster, especially on S2 tracks where there are a lot of high speed corners, which suit the nature of FXO the most, but all I was trying to say to r10racer is to atleast think about or do some test instead of spouting random numbers

Quote from rc10racer : something around 6% air intake might work and will save the tires aswell so theres a plus there for the throttle happy people.

I strongly suggest you to have a read at CTRA sub forum about the balancing of TBO class before spouting such nonsense

Quote from danthebangerboy :If i am banned, then thanks a lot you bunch of idiots! Not everyone can drive perfectly in LFS so you should expect people to not always be that good in the higher powered, or rear wheel drive cars.
You shouldnt be banning like that because i recieved no warning, and is was the first bump that i had caused, completely unfair.

Thats where you went wrong from... Instead of accusing people, you'd rather contacted the admin and discussed what happend in a mature way. The server is quite clean, and the standard of racing is quite high there, so you should be catious...

Quote from tucka20 :Hi, I have been playing lfs for a while now and it has developed into my favorite game so thanks for that guys!

Anyways, my question... I have been using my logitech freedom 2.4 wireless joystick as a clutch in test drive unlimited for months now and would like to use it in lfs. However, it has one vertical axis from pull-back to push-forward. Is it possible to have the axis begin from the center of the joystick ie with no movement? Hope thats clear enough!

tucka20

You can try using DXtweak to tweak the axis in the way, so it will only read the needed half of travel
